Back to the Grindstone.........................

This last week has been very emotionally draining-our beloved MIA,recently diagnosed with Lymphoma, took a turn for the worst after I'd left for the Airport to travel back to the UK for a week.........imagine my devastation when John phoned me at 6am the next morning to tell me she'd passed away. I spent 10 years with her,and to not be with her in her final moments-I don't need to tell any of you who are animal lovers what that has done to me......I am totally heartbroken.
BUT-Life goes on so they say....and a smiling ERIN my gorgeous Granddaughter was the wonderful tonic I needed to keep me going throughout the week, calling up old friends to help me clear my vast clutter in the Loft,Garage and House which was my home for 32 years. We had lots of laughter & tears about life past & present, fits of giggles and a little bit of swearing when things got stuck, went wrong or didn't work out but all in all quite a lot got sorted amongst us all.

When John and I first came here it had been a toss-up between a week's holiday in Whitby & Scarborough, or a week in France. The Chateau above won hands down when viewed on the Internet-and so our adventures started......I will NEVER forget my first impressions when we finally arrived after 11 and a half hours constant driving and our bags were taken up to our room and we were shown out into the garden for a refreshing cup of tea......

OMG!!It was stunning-it was a boiling hot day in July and we fell in love...and so began the French Romance....

We went home to England and booked the next available dates to come straight back!!

Even then we were mooching around the Brocantes...picking up interesting pieces which caught the eye-I have always loved Graphic Design.....I remember telling my teacher at Primary School I was going to be a Graphic designer when I grew up!!

And so whilst clearing the loft.....I came across these gorgeous Sheet Music items which I have brought back in my suitcase with me.....

and they are on our Auction-site now....what Fantastic Pictures these would make if framed.....

I am just about keeping my eyes open after a busy few this weekend will be getting back into the groove & listing some wonderful goodies bought before I went away.So I bid you Au Revoir et Bon Weekend! Have a great one-see you soon! xx

In loving memory of our beautiful MIA.........9/7/02-22/06/12

Beyond The Rainbow

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

International Invisibility continues...........................

It's really becoming quite tiresome-this monopoly which Ebay seem to have over the whole world of Internet Shopping........try as we might we just don't seem to be getting any sense out of the so-called Customer Support Team-infact,it seems weird when each different Support Team member you speak to knows less than the previous one about why we suddenly are not allowed to have International Visibility when we have happily sold to our American and Worldwide friends without problems seemingly forever.
SO-Please don't be offended when we don't pop up on the USA,Canadian,Australian sites anymore with our goodies-it just seems that apparently most Ebay Sellers have been demoted, without any warning whatsoever, to that "bit at the very bottom of the page" where you have to scroll down into the dungeons for "all other sellers" products......Ebay and their infinite wisdom eh? We just suggest if you like us and like the treasures & trinkets we work very hard to source & bring to you from all over France-add us as a Favourite Seller-that way you won't miss any new items coming up for your perusal & won't end up going on a Magical Mystery Tour of Ebay sites trying to find us!
Sunday morning the dogs (or should I say Esto the Pesto Pup in particular ) had us up bright & early at 5am wanting to go out for a wee (grrrr) we decided it was now or never-stay up,get ready & tootle off to our Local Annual Brocante in the grounds of Chateau Javarzay......yawn-first stop, the Buvette for an essential Espresso to keep sustain the eyelids open & keep us awake-John was watching intently as to what size piece of Brioch they were cutting for

It's very quiet before the sun comes up-trestle tables are still mostly covered at that unearthly hour.............
then again-some are not!......................

oh how I wish I could win the Lottery and buy a Castle......!

or even just a Turret?!
We can but dream.................(sigh)
Anyway-we have found more beautiful Treasures,so they will be coming your way soon-in the meantime,I shall retire to my Boudoir as I am jetting back to the UK again in a few days to do my own house clearance.......I need all the sleep I can get for that one I can tell you-(I should be on one of those Hoarder Programs on TV-I am the perfect candidate!) so Bonsoir for now!.....

International Visibility Disorder........................!!

Apparently we can't be seen.............................................!

Yes-that's right-Ebay have managed to cock it up yet again and all of our & numerous other Sellers' listings cannot be seen by our International Customers-which kind of defeats the object of the exercise don't you think?

When will this be rectified I hear you asking?

This is no fun for us because we have lots of lovely interesting pieces to tempt you with.......and no chance whatsoever of you seeing them if you live anywhere outside of France..........
We keep trying on an hourly basis to resolve this totally unbelieveable situation-and we would appreciate any feedback our Regular Customers can give us as to whether we can or can't be seen.

In the meantime we're off to a Brocante in the morning in the grounds of this gorgeous hopefully you may SEE what delights we may find there in the very near future.........!

Computer malfunction.....................

Due to my desktop computer having a fit on it this week and being confined to just the Laptop between my other half et Moi-things have been strained this week to say the least. My Internet freedom has been curtailed somewhat as we have both been arguing as to who needs the only & only computer the most-it's ME......according to John's HIM.....(WHATEVER)......!
SO, instead of the usual blog about what we have or havn't been up to I'm putting up some of my favourite images of the week for you to ponder over, such wonderful vintage Artwork exists in France and we come across it on a daily basis in our travels and tootling around so I thought I would share some with you.....

French style and uniqueness is everywhere.............

Magazines from the Art-Deco era..............

Stunning Art-Deco biscuit Tin lid.................

Art-Nouveau-stylised Biscuit Tin........

these two stunning items above are currently available on our Auction site.......and of course the Blog wouldn't be complete with my favourite image of the new Little Man....

so until my Computer revoir et Bon Weekend!!
