The Deco Lady shows her face AGAIN!............................................................

WELL who'd have ever thought it? We found a stunning & very rare Art-Deco Compact quite a few weeks ago now,-a once in a lifetime find........or so we thought at the time. Her stunning face & design adorns our first ever blog below & she created quite a stir at the time.....but this morning, at a local Brocante we had visited early doors because of the heatwave forecast, I was peering into a sellers' cabinet, admiring something completely different when out of the corner of my eye-I spotted her AGAIN! This time in a different colourway...wow! WHAT are the chances of that!! She contains some of the original contents & it is so interesting to imagine perhaps a pretty young French woman applying the powdered Rouge to her cheeks all those years ago from this exquisite little item................soon to be listed! Au revoir for now!

Monsieur le Soleil et Madam la Pluie.................

The weather has been very changeable of late and no matter what we get dressed up in,it always seems to be the wrong attire by the time we get to the Brocante! Dress for rain and a bit chilly(as per forecast) and after a few hours trawling round for treasure,voila-the sun comes out and we're melting in our raincoat and sensible "footwear"-I was desperately searching for a pair of flipflops to buy on Sunday afternoon after a disasterous morning getting soaked to the skin...oh well,no matter WHAT the weather,we still manage to come across that something a little unusual or different...I just love the graphics of a wonderful vintage children's storybook I found.....so bright & colourful despite the loose pages-it still had me hooked reading the stories,I hope it will do you too.......soon to be listed....

Mia and my shadow......................................................

The dogs & our lives have been turned upside down by the arrival of a little whirlwind by the name of "Dita"-hence no work is getting done because this little tearaway is demanding attention 24hrs per day.We have kept Dobermanns for 25 yrs & we have two "oldies" so it was time for another youngster.Off to Normandy we went to fetch her (taking a few Brocantes in along the way of course!) and returned with two types of treasure...the furry kind and the type to list on our site.We had forgotten what a young pup is capable of...the Ironing Board cover has been munched into a thousand pieces, every pair of shoes has been scattered all over the house, electrical wires chewed,(she nearly cut the Internet off yesterday, not to mention trying to electrocute herself in the process). She has used my newly planted flower trough as a sandpit & tried to chew the kitten...of course if she doesn't start behaving soon you may have a chance to bid on her.............!!
